COACH JONES 

Coach Scott Jones returns in 2008 for his 9th season as the Head Coach of the Mustangs and a member of the P.E. Department. Coach Jones has contributed to the growth of football in Cobb Co. for the past 22 yrs with time spent at North Cobb High School (9yrs), as an assistant coach, and prior to his arrival at the Mountain he spent time as the Head Coach and Athletic Director at South Cobb High School (5yrs).

Coach Jones and his wife Jeanne have two children Conner & Maddie .

 

 

 

 

 
COACH JASON ROQUEMORE

Coach Jason Roquemore is the Defensive Coordinator for the Mustangs while coaching the Inside Linebackers and teaching in the P.E. Department where he serves as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. The 2008 season marks Coach “Rock”’s 4th season with the Mustang staff, following a coaching stint at Carrolton High School in Carrolton, GA where he was also the head girls soccer coach. Once at the Mountain, Coach Rock made an immediate presence coaching the Inside Linebackers as well as taking over the head job with the girls soccer program at KMHS leading them to two consecutive playoff appearances.

Coach Rock was a 4 year letterman at Riverdale High School where he played inside linebacker and played outside linebacker at West Georgia University.

Coach Rock and his wife Julie have a son Hyatt born April 25, 2008.

 
COACH TOM CLARK

Coach Tom Clark, is the Offensive Coordinator for the Mustangs and coaches the Quarterbacks while teaching in the P.E. Department. The 2008 season marks Coach Tom Clark's 8th season on the Mustang staff. Coach Clark is a co-coordinator of the college recruiting program at KMHS pushing student athletes to college’s across the country and is also working with the Mustang Baseball Team this year. After spending time coaching both football and track at Lake Weir High School in Florida  right out of college, Coach Clark has served in various capacities at Paulding County High School and Hiram High School coaching football and track. Coach Clark has also earned a Master Degree in Educational Administration from Jacksonville State University.

Coach Tom Clark was a three year letterman at North Cobb High School playing quarterback and free safety on the Warriors football team as well as being a four year letterman on the baseball team.  While playing baseball at North Cobb, Coach Clark was selected to the 1988 All-State Team and was a member of the GACA All Star Team in 1988 as well. Upon graduation, Coach Clark attended Auburn University and was a member of the 1989 SEC Tournament Champion baseball team. Coach Clark then got the itch to play football again and transferred to Livingston University where he lettered three years as the quarterback for the Tigers.

COACH DON BAKER

Coach Don Baker is the Special Teams Coordinator for the Mustangs as well as being the Outside Linebackers coach while teaching World History.  Coach Baker enters his 8th season with the Mustangs staff. Coach Baker spent time at Valdosta High School prior to coming to KMHS, as a member of the 1998 State Championship coaching staff, coaching defensive ends and linebackers on the 9th grade and JV levels. Coach Baker also is a co-coordinator of the middle school off-season morning workout program and is involved with the recruiting process to give our Mustangs a chance to play at the next level. Coach Baker is also the webmaster for the KMHS football website.

Coach Baker was a four year letterman in football and track at Valdosta High School. Also, Coach Baker was a member of the 1992 National Championship team at VHS. Coach Baker was named to the Region 1-AAAA all region team, awarded the WCTV Super 6 Football Award and was named Best Defensive Lineman on the 1994 team at VHS , which he co-captained.  Following high school Coach Baker attended Georgia Southern University for three years then returned home and graduated from Valdosta State with a Bachelor’s of Secondary Education. Coach Baker has also earned a Master Degree in Educational Administration from Jacksonville State University.

Coach Baker and his wife Erin have a son Aiden born April 12, 2008.

 

COACH JIMMY WHITTEMORE

Coach Jimmy Whittemore begins his 8th season working with the Mustangs offensive line as well as serving as the JV offense co-coordinator Coach “Whitt”’s coaching career includes stops at Starkville Academy in Miss., Carrollton High in Ala., South Cobb and Woodland High School. At the Mountain, Coach Whitt also coaches on the Mustang Baseball staff and teaches Math.

Coach Whitt competed in football and track at Sprayberry High School and upon graduation played football at Holmes Jr. College. Following time there, Coach Whitt continued his education at Mississippi State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree and then received his Master’s degree from Jacksonville State University.

Coach Whitt and his wife Melonie have three boys named Tyler, Trey & Tanner.

 

COACH ZACH REED

Coach Zach Reed begins his 5th year as part of the Mustangs staff coaching the defensive line. Coach Reed is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and leads the Mustang strength and conditioning program. 

Coach Reed is a graduate of South Cobb High School and Tennessee Tech. While at Tennessee Tech, Coach Reed received a BS in Health and Physical Education and a MA in Instructional Leadership.

 

COACH BOB CLARK

Coach Clark enters his 34th year of coaching this year and his 3rd at KMHS. Coach Clark works on the offensive side of the ball with the offensive line and teaches in the P.E. Department. Coach Clark began his coaching career in 1974 at North Cobb High School before a stint at South East Whitfield from 1980-1984. From 1984 to 2006, Coach Clark was the Head Coach at North Cobb High School.

Coach Clark was a 3 year letterman at Auburn HS in Alabama before playing for Livingston University where he earned 3 letters as well.

Coach Clark and his wife Kay have three children; Ken, Tom and Julie and 7 grandchildren; Hunter, Tyler, Braden, Mason Clark, Alexis, Courtney and Rachel

 

 

COACH TOMMY MACON

Coach Macon enters his 2nd year with the Mustangs and his coaching overall.  Coach Macon is the Mustangs Defensive Backs coach and teaches in the P.E. Department at KMHS. Coach Macon has spent time at several places prior to his arrival at the Mountain including Opelika High School – Assis. Football, Basketball, Valdosta State University –Graduate Assist. Rec., Tompkins High School – Head FB, Track, Savannah High School – Head FB, Track, AD, Georgia Southern University – Defensive Line, T.W. Josey High School – Head FB, Track, Southwest High School – Head FB, Track, AD and Coach Macon served as the Golf coach at Rutland High School. Bringing both college experience and the experience of being a head coach and athletic director Coach Macon has been a welcomed addition.

 

Coach Macon received his bachelors degree from  Jacksonville State University, in PE and received a Masters of Education from Valdosta State University.

 

Coach Macon and his wife Avis are very glad to be back in North Georgia and have one dog Zoe.

 

 

COACH RICH ORIA

Coach Rich Oria begins his 9th season with the Mustangs coaching on the offensive side of the ball working with the wide receivers. Coach Oria is also apart of the Mustang Baseball staff, which have won three consecutive Region 5-AAAAA titles as well as a finals appearance in 2007. Before his time at the mountain, Coach Oria spent time at Pebblebrook High School where he coached football and baseball as well.

Coach Oria is a 1992 graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S. in Physical Education and a 2005 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Masters in Health Studies.

 

Coach Oria and his wife Jennifer have two sons; Jos who is a member of the Mustang football team and Ryne who is 7.

 

COACH CHRIS WALKER

Coach Walker enters his 8th season with the Mustangs and his 11th season coaching overall. Coach Walker will be working with the  offense serving as the offensive co-coordinator for the JV and working with the offensive backfield while coaching Golf and teaching in the P.E Department at KMHS. Prior to coming to the Mountain, Coach Walker spent 3 years at Pebblebrook High School where he was involved with both the football and baseball programs. Coach Walker has also coached with the baseball Mustangs from 2001-2007 as well as the varsity swim team from 2001-2005.

 

Coach Walker is a graduate of Shamrock High School where he played both football and baseball. Following graduation Coach Walker earned his B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Georgia State University.

 

 

Coach Walker and his wife Amy have two children a son Michael and daughter Kalyn.
